This October, I thought it might be fun to take our readers on a trip down memory lane. I started doing talks on the legends and lore of Illinois in 2007, and since then, I’ve been lucky to have attended many great events, meeting a lot of interesting folks in the process. It was hard to choose just five events to share photos from, but Chicago Ghost Conference III was near the top of the list. While not the largest event I’ve ever spoken at, it was one of the most prestigious. The Chicago Ghost Conference is held semi-annually and organized by longtime Chicago ghost author Ursula Bielski. The third Chicago Ghost Conference was held at the Portage Theater on October 1, 2011. It was there that I first met the ladies from TNT Paranormal, a team of investigators who I highly respect for their professionalism. I attended the conference with my good friend Steve Litteral of Tinker Swiss Cottage, and was seated at a table next to Jeff Mudgett, author of Bloodstains. I also had the privilege of meeting Kat Klockow and Jeff Belanger of Ghostvillage.com. Though I was unable to stay for the evening events, I had a great time.
